He galvanized enough people to win a presidential election, given his complete lack of political experience. What does that tell you? That we are SO sick of these anti-Christian, anti white establishment shills, that we elected the guy who had the balls to say (publicly) what we were all thinking. Then water cooler talk started getting more real and people realized that we are just FINISHED being the scapegoat. f***. That.

Lmao, yeah, southcoast is a hoot

I've always wondered how he would be in an in-person discussion. I picture him getting very animated and very loud.

Oh man, I cracked myself up one day because of a Proudclad topic. I just imagined how everybody would look and sound saying the shit they were posting and dodging other people's questions/comments when they couldn't answer; I laughed for like a good 10 minutes. There was one post made that had me rolling already.

The Church of White Nationalism

I wouldnt go that far. I think there are white nationalist among Trumps worshippers however I dont think all his worshippers are white nationalist.

Reason I call the Church of Trumpism though is because his supporters act like religious followers. They believe whatever delusional thing Trump says or does. Its defended no matter how nonsensical it is.

For example, one of my friends to this day thinks Trump has taken less Vacations than Obama up to this point in their tenure in office.

It isn't happening now, but it's popular. And some combination of single-payer and universal healthcare is the norm across Western Europe: to claim it's impossible or impractical is a bit much. These things don't just fall fully-formed from some policy think-tank, after all.
Plus, it shows there's significant (theoretical) support for this bill even among elected Democratic politicians. It's something the progressive wing is pushing hard for, and an actual idea the Democratic Party as a whole can campaign on.

1) the only country that has a national insurance model comparable to medicare for all is Canada; most of western europe uses either the beveridge or bismarck models. The latter looks remarkably like the ACA, with several caveats of course

2) is it popular? It is sort-of popular among dems, btu it's not as popular as plenty of policies that never pass (immigration reform, gun control laws)

http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2017/06/23/public-support-for-single-payer-health-coverage-grows-driven-by-democrats/

3) single-payer would be useful for containing the growth in prices, but we're not going to magically negotiate prices that are like 60% of the current remuneration physicians and hospitals currently get. That's the kind of fantasy you find in a think-tank policy paper, imo.
