When I tried years ago I couldn't beat the two Protoss missions where you fight other Protoss but I succeeded this time. Now we'll see if I'm good enough to beat the Zerg BW campaign.

Brood war is definitely where the kid gloves come off.

I was surprised how easy the Protoss campaign in the original is. You have such a huge margin of error even in the last missions. In Protoss 7, I won by killing Red's two Nexuses, which I didn't even know was a victory condition. I thought you had to destroy the bigger orange base's Nexus. And then I just kept screwing up in Protoss 8 but it didn't matter. I lost 24 dragoons trying to get to the stasis cell by land, and then I barely killed it with carriers before I lost all of them. Protoss 9 and 10 are so easy too, mass archons is easy mode. Well, on Protoss 10 I had to go with mass archons and dumping my minerals into zealots. But even then, you only have to go through one of red's four bases and then you're at the overmind.

No, I was just really bad as a kid.

And with how easy come of the missions are, it makes for some humorous moments. Like in Terran 3 when you're wiping the map when the dropships arrive.

I hope your playing thorugh it with remastered. It is definitely worth it.

I remember on that mission, when i was a kid. I was getting rofl stomped and I had my last guys and scv's in the center surrounded, about to be killed off the dropships arrive. It was pretty epic.

The difference in skill levels gets crazy in for Starcraft, moreso than any other game I've really ever seen.

I am playing remastered. So pretty. Yeah the first time I beat it as a kid I believe I just had some floating buildings when the timer ran out. Because I realized I could lift them and then most of the Zerg army can't hit air.

Oh, did anyone play Starcraft Insurrection or Retribution back in the day? They were two authorized expansion packs by companies other than Blizzard released between Starcraft 1 and Brood War. They're both supposed to be bad, and Insurrection also has the worst voice acting you will ever hear.

On another topic: there's an Enslavers sequel campaign that's still downloadable on battle.net somewhere, and does SC Remastered use the same map files as the original?

If so I can hook up anyone who's interested with that and an amped up version of all original and expansion campaigns if you find the base ones too easy but you'd need access to Drive first, just PM me.

You can play old maps, but I believe campaigns you needed to modify files for will not work. If this means the campaigns you have would work, I'd love to have them.

Playing broodwar and I am on protoss level 5 The battle of Braxis

So while there i charged a bunker after the 2nd generater with two zealots and 4 dragoons. The bottom entrance, after the first two bunkers guarding it. One of the zealots was at 4hp the other at max 100. They both charge the bunker. i got my dragoons in place then i seperated them. most of the fire went after the healthy zealot. The bumker was destroyed. He then died a honorable death. The injured zealot survived with exactly 4hp left and zero shields. If he couldn't tank even one more shot. Both zealots would have died. So i blogging this to honorate that zealot that gave his life, for his injuired friend. Who now rides alone in the shuttle. The only survivor. of 4..

Some of you guys should take aHappySacka up on his offer. They are fun.

Yea, the original campaign was quite easy. Brood war had some challenge; it's not that hard, but definitely not a pushover. There's also Save/Loading, and slowing down the game speed to make things much easier.

Also, ASL is starting up again, It's in the round of 24 right now. It's using the remastered version now. Some Pros are still using 4:3 aspect ratio despite the advantage that 16:9 has.

I wish you could play in 16:9 with the original graphics. It sucks that you lose vision if you choose to use them.
