The shocking video of a 21 y/o Non-Binary LGBT Pride Leader MURDERED by a cop has outraged the parents!!

21 y/o Scout Schultz, a Georgia Tech Student was shot dead by campus police late Saturday after he approached the police holding what appears to be a knife and the parents don't understand they didn't use the taser!!

They have now hired L Chris Stewart to represent them ahead of the investigation where the video shows campus cops telling Scout to drop the weapon with several warnings as the tense footage shows Scout getting closer and closer shouting "Shoot Me!".

One of the cops said "Nobody wants to hurt you" before shots ring out and Scout falls to the ground screaming in pain..

A press meeting will be held to see if the officers had training to dealing with mentally ill students as it's unclear what illness Scout had.

His father said his child preferred to be referred to as "they" and "them" rather than gendered pronounds and had been holding a "tiny knife".

The Georgia Tech Campus Police got a 911 call of a person holding a knife and a gun on Saturday night.

Scouts motheer, Lynn said they were a "nonconformist, and very very bright who had a lot of empathy for other people"

Scout was also president of the school's Pride Alliance, an organization for LGBTQ Students and Allies. They released a statement that said "We love you scout and we will continue to push for change"

Scout was studying engineering and had plans to go to grad school with a career in biomedical devices. They were born male but non-binary means they don't identify as male or female.

Sounds like suicide by cop. But I absolutely believe cops should use tasers or rubber bullets instead of lethal force, especially for those who aren't using guns.

Hard to say without knowing how close he was to the cops. If they felt they didn't have much time, they'll react instinctively and grab whatever is fastest and most efficient. You don't always have the luxury of having the time to think the situation out clearly and make plans.

Though the fact that they had enough time to tell him that they didn't want to hurt him suggests they did have some time to work with. Eh, I'm not a judge and don't have the information to make the call.

A knife is a deadly weapon and I can see the cops fearing for their lives upon him approaching a certain range. Problem of using a taser is that it may not necessarily stop the threat.

Tasers don't always work. Rubber bullets don't always work. Bullets don't always work either, but they work more reliably than the former two options. And if you have a psycho with a knife coming at you, I will bet fucking anything you will go with the option that has the best chance of saving your life every time.

And anyone who says otherwise is either a liar or a fool who will change their mind immediately should they ever find themself in that situation.

Sorry, taser's don't always stop someone this person (clearly deranged) continued to approach in a threatening way. The cop is not obligated to try to non-lethally save the crazy person that MIGHT actually stab them...

The problem is that the only effective means at STOPPING the threat are typically lethal. The police shoot to stop the threat. Killing is an afterthought.

Impractical to do so. It is a small moving target and the likelihood of missing is high. Aiming for the center of mass is recommended since shots there are effective at stopping the threat and it is relatively easy to hit.
