Never played one, thinking of getting Zero. I've seen videos and it looks like there are tons of minigames, but they don't look that fun to me? Is the combat really good?

Combat'n tone for me. The games have a fun battle system with the hypest presentation, 'n they're fuckin' hilarious'n rad'n stupid yet still manage ta be legit compellin' when they wanna be

I've only played the first one. The combat pissed me off, honestly, but I still really liked it for the "free roam in a Japanese city" idea. The minigames were my favorite part. The story was also pretty great, I thought.
