Remember when twin towers fell and first responders ran in to refurbish the hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Dell computers inside!

There has never been a disaster where people in mass don't turn to help people. Sure, fucked up people like yourself might have the thought to exploit the situation, but that's far from the norm and a logical response to the situation

Surely you know more about dealing without power during and after a hurricane than someone who lived through several of them and spent 25 years living in Puerto Rico.

Sure but my situation was tornado, when the power goes out the bad people come out and you'd be a fool to think otherwise. Your emotional response doesn't account for the fact that you never lived through a 100% no power for months situation.

Let me put it this way. My mom is likely currently more worried about food not spoiling in her fridge or to get water to shower than she is about people with masks showing up to rob the place. Surely you don't see the irony in your claim that I'm the one being emotional here when your mind first goes to "HOLY FUCK THERE'S NO POWER, I'M GONNA GET ROBBED" when there is no precedent for this in Puerto Rico. If there is one positive thing I'll say about its residents is that they do band together in times of crisis, so I don't expect anyone to go crazy and rob my mom blind because I am looking at this situation like a rational person.

I don't see any irony no, I made a logical point about the dangers of the power being out and you got emotional because you naturally want your mom to be safe, you act like I'm attacking Puerto Rico specifically

That's your takeaway from my post? Sure, let me panic even though there's no precedent for looting and pillaging occurring in the island. Let me panic because surely you understand Puerto Rican culture much better than I do. Let me panic because deep down inside we're all supposed to be savages instead of reasonable people. The great bignutz has spoken.

people like bignutz think its human nature to be pieces of shit when given the opportunity. they base their entire worldview on that idea

Show me the sources where crime has spiked during outages in Puerto Rico. I'll wait. Hell, if anything, this topic is evidence that no one should have you as a neighbor if they value their possessions.

Then use yours instead of borderline racist bullshit you're spewing. It's fucking disgusting and I can only hope your life is pathetic enough that at 10:30 pm on a Wednesday night the best you have going is using a tragedy as the grounds to troll and that these aren't your honest beliefs. Because to even remotely deny humanity instinct time and time again to help each other in crisis is a psychopaths level of disconnect from society.

Did you read chills repeated statements that there exists no history of meaningful looting during past hurricanes and long power outages?
