Current Events > Getting laser eye surgery next week. Where to get some free audio books?

Good ole air force is paying me to get the eyes lasered so my vision is less crappy. Down time will be huge during recovery, any ideas?

Your local library should have audio books plus some have downloadable versions so you don't have to check out a set of CDs.
Also, when I had it done I was too uncomfortable to focus on anything so I just sat in the dark and whined until I felt better.
That's if you get PRK though. Lasik is a much quicker and less painful recovery.

you're gonna have recovery time? they just gave me some sleeping pills to sleep a whole day right after surgery and that was it.

From what I understand the vision results are the same and the difference is in the healing process. Lasik heals more quickly but you always have that flap forever and PRK shaves away the outer layer and lets it heal back so there is no flap to deal with. Longer and more painful healing but safer long run.
