The Halo mashup pack in Minecraft was confirmed to be coming to the Switch version, so in a vague sense, Master Chief (as a skin) will be playable on a Nintendo platform.

After Cloud's cameos in Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy Explorers counted for him to get into Smash, I think this isn't really that far off anymore. We legit live in a strange time where it's absolutely within the realm of possibility to see Master Chief fighting Mario.

Brawl broke down he barriers, Smash 4 was just the releasing of the flood Gates. Just seems like video game companies are becoming less stingy about their IPs.

I think it's more of the fact that appearing in Smash is now considered a great way to advertise your IP.

I've always kinda thought MC would be cool in Smash Bros.

And I knew anything was going to be fair game in just a few installments when I learned about Snake in Brawl. But it's still not a sure thing. Just an awesome thing.

Correct. The Mario pack is exclusive to Nintendo platforms.


Tbqh I actually really like how Nintendo and Microsoft are becoming buddies. Microsoft actually published Minecraft for Wii U in Japan. Nintendo is doing cross platform play in games like Rocket League and stuff to let people play with Xbox players. It's cute.
