Honestly, bringing a two year old to a baseball game is pretty dumb. Baseball games average about 90db--exposure to that for at least a good hour and a half could be very harmful to a two year old's ears.

Or they might get hit in the head with a 90 mph baseball.

Yeah, no. People clap after their team gets an out or hit and are generally quiet until the last couple innings.

Oh my Lord people here. They can't fathom taking families or friend to a baseball game. Must be a shame to not have friends or partners or any life.

I can tell you I would much rather go out with adults for an evening then drag around a toddler with us for that matter.

@27_Sandman_40

I'm actually going to ask you to think about your position a little more and reconsider.

First of all, the "they won't even remember" point. Parents don't bring them "everywhere they go" out of selfishness, quite the opposite. It's to give them sensory and social experiences that help them develop. These are tiny brain sponges learning about the world ever second of every day. I take my 15mo old outside somewhere everyday and try to do something new. Could this be in the form of a baseball game? It could. But that wouldn't be my first choice.

Secondly, while I totally agree a movie theater is not a place for a toddler/baby, restaurants and other places are perfectly acceptable. My daughter sits there, draws on a a paper, and eats her food. She babbles occasionally but that's it. Why? Because my wife and I are attentive and quick to prepare her food or engage with her, not dick around on our phones or whatever. Once she bumped her head on the table and cried. So I picked her up and stepped outside until she quieted. Any problems you have with kids at restaurants etc is probably due to poor parenting not the act of bringing them itself.

Who said anything about family and friends? We're talking about bringing 2 year olds to games, something they won't even remember.

Just bring your kids to a "family restaurant", that's what they are for.

Absolutely. These people dine alone at restaurants, go to movies alone, concerts alone...they think other people are a nuisance that they have to "deal with" on occasion.

Driving to the game was far more dangerous.

Get ready for nets, motion sensors and a bunch of other unnecessary crap. People always go overboard when a tragedy strikes. Shit happens unfortunately and there's nothing you can do about it. It's like in my city where a guy on the highway who had narcolepsy fell asleep and ran over and killed a kid. Now city/state leaders lowered the highway speed to freaking 30 mphs. A prime example of overeacting.

this has happened numerous times, but no changes are made because baseball stans cry out "DON'T CHANGE GAME! Muh immersion..."

baseball fucking sucks

I stand corrected then. I don't watch baseball

If you don't watch baseball and don't know wtf you're talking about, why comment? I don't get it.

Topics like these remind me how out of touch with the real world some of you actually are

This.

I take my kid to baseball games all the time. It's my responsibility as a parent to pay attention to foul balls or accept the risk.

Most ball parks already have sufficient nets and the Yankees should really extend theirs.

If I had a toddler I'd definitely take them to a baseball game. If there's a better way to instantly put the little bastard to sleep, I'd love to hear it.
