a lot of cebum, scalp and grime acumulates on it so a good half an hour sumberged in a bowl with boiling water helps melt the shit off the pointy bits, then you use whatever you can to scrub it off, you will thank me after all the shit you clean off of it.

It's not only that, it's the dust particles that stick to it after it's been left in the open for so long. I did exactly that, submerge it in boiling water, but it didn't seem to take.
