Yes No View Results 21 y/o Hunter Foret from Louisiana, the man who "accidentally" killed his friend after his GUN went off and shot him in the FACE has AVOIDED PRISON and instead will have to write an ESSAY about the consequences of his actions!! He plead guilty to negligent homicide and was sentenced to a 5 year suspended prison term, 400 hours of community service and to write an essay!! 17 y/o Leon Castagne was killed after he was shot in the face at a party. Judge Franz Zibilich said "This is a needless loss of life, but the actions of the accused were clearly and obviously not intentional. Nonetheless, there certainly needs to be a consequence here. A life is lost and families are impacted forever. No matter what this court this, this young man will not be coming back" Hunter was hosting a party at his apartment at 12:15am on May 26th when he began handling a revolver. He was trying to close the cylinder when he accidentally pulled the trigger and shot it in Leon's face. Multiple witnesses said it was "accidental" and called 911. Hunter apologized to Leon's father and said he would never intentionally hurt his friend.. The judge said because he has no prior criminal record and because there's no criminal intent, he does not believe incarceration is needed. In addition the 5 years of probation, he imposed a 1100 fine, a GUN SAFETY course and 400 hours of community service including lecturing high schoolers on firearms safety plus a 1000 word essay. The punishment may end up being a little more embarrassing for him than he realizes which is one of the few things that may actually change the behaviour of somebody like that but it's still laughable that any judge ostensibly told him to stay in and write lines for causing someone's death. --- Mod me?
