And this doesn't really make me feel old because it came out before I was even born.

If you caught your dad listening to nirvana, you would see it as lame. Right or wrong? Because you inherently understand the juviille nature of the music, life comes in phases and some things tend to get left behind. If you saw a 60 yr old man wearing a sonicvthe hedgehog shirt with a bright red hoodie, how would you respond?

Well my mom likes Nirvana and that didn't make me like them any less or see it as lame. They were a great band and Kurt was a good lyricist imo, even if it was angsty that doesn't inherently make it bad or give some arbitrary cutoff for listening to it or enjoying it.
As for the Sonic hoodie thing, I'm not really sure what you're going for. I more than likely wouldn't even notice it or I wouldn't give it a second thought if I did because I'm not a judgemental asshole that could see someone wearing a hoodie with a character on it and get on some high horse about it or cut someone down for that. It seems dumb to arbitrarily add ages where you can no longer like some certain thing without there being something wrong with you...

The fact that you refrain from judgement doesn't eliminate the social stigma from existing. Unfortunately, it doesn't. It's not being an asshole, it's called being self aware. As for you mother, she's just a victim, she never developed her taste into adulthood so she's stuck with what she knows. Like a grown man eating fast food from childhood habits

Who cares about a stigma? If I don't feel it, the dude wearing it doesn't feel it, then it's not a thing for either of us. The way it becomes a thing is by some individual getting involved in the social group that's judging someone else for something they like when there's no reason to.
If I had to choose between a 60 year old man with a Sonic hoodie, and some middle aged asshole pointing out that they're too old to like [thing] I'd go with the 60 year old easy.

But Nirvana, grunge, the 90's and all that were notably after youth. If anything her taste had to grow away from the 70's and 80's stuff she was most used to to be able to enjoy it when I started playing it because she didn't like that genre and also wasn't particularly a fan of the various bands and genres that ultimately influenced Nirvana's sound either.

All your points are just a cluster fuck of childish ideas and a false sense of superior taste.

So you're saying Nirvana is juvenile while unironically displaying nothing but an extremely juvenile outlook on everything.

lol "who cares about a stigma"? Try looking up the meaning of words before using them, don't just copy what you see posted. Stigmas exist for the sole reason of recognizingsocial deviance. Everybody cares, not taking into account the maladjusted who don't know any better. Get outta here, you've been reading into the book if grinder a bit too much. Kurt didn't care about stigmas either which is why he didn't brush his teeth or wash his shirts, that mentality leaves you depressed. Better be careful

Oh if were ranking the songs Id say

Drain You
Lounge Act
On a Plain
Breed
Lithium
Something in the Way
Stay Away
In Bloom
Smells Like Teen Spirit
Polly
Territorial Pissings
Come As You Are

Outside of Lithium, I think the singles on Nevermind are kinda easily some of Nirvanas weakest songs, though still not bad
