I took this one job at the beginning of August, but the job description was pretty much a bait and switch and they had me doing menial tasks. And that sucks about that bait and switch thing :\ The only downside to using upwork is that you'll have to probably get established on the site first which might mean doing a few crappy small time jobs for not much money in order to get some 5 star ratings in whatever key skills you have, e.g. java, php, mysql, etc. Also you have a profile where you can advertise past work and stuff, I think that is a big part of what got me hired --- I may not go down in history, but I will go down on your sister. <cite>Sativa_Rose posted [p:887301669] in Just got h... One of the other programmers basically said there was no way we could do what they wanted within the amount of time because the only way to do it is to replace a huge part of the system. So no one actually expected us to save the presentation, which is being given in another country by a traveling guy. So I spent most of the day learning NodeJS and socket.io, which is funny because I think the only reason I was hired was because they were in a huge rush and the guy they sent out to hire thought that Java and NodeJS are the same thing, but hey, I didn't get fired so I call that a win. --- I may not go down in history, but I will go down on your sister. <cite>Sativa_Rose posted [p:887359124] in Just got h...
