Welp, onto the next season. The UN are pieces of shits that need to get their ass killed and I'm glad the main girl who was all "never killed a human before" became badass and just started nonchalantly shooting the fuckers when people's lives are at stake. Also, the civilians stoning the fuck out of one of them was so satisfying too. Poor canon seems to have died but the ED has her mech still in there so hopefully she's like Koyo and is half dead half alive. Seri isn't in the new OP apparently though so it foreshadows that she might be dead and I really don't want that. I'd rather Rina die tbh
The new OP is great though, all the old dead characters, even the ones in the OVA are featured in it. The actual song I don't like as much as OP1 but it's still really good, way better than the shangri-la OP.

I love how Toki (the Crested Ibis, AKA singing bird girl) uses moves from another character named Toki (from Fist Of The North Star) to fight. Also, the fact that Kaban's ultimate is basically a frog splash makes the inner Eddie Guerrero mark in me very happy.

The entire game is a mish mash of other fighting games with some Killer Instinct and Guilty Gear mechanics mixed in. I saw some Johnny (GG), Dr Doom, Leona, Wolverine, and more. It's just fucking nuts as a game.

I am probably going to look into it this weekend.

Dead or Alive is fucking sick man. My most favourite angela song. I love how she goes "Itai (it hurts)!" with the choir repeating it after three times. I'm sure you know that part. It's one of the coolest parts in the opening with the scenes that show with it. It just feels so impactful because it ties into Fafner, like how at some points the Festums said "it hurts!" during the movie and Exodus. The feels.

And yeah, the scenes that show the old characters like the OVA ones and Kazuki and everyone when they were small kids are great too. Every piece of Fafner media is connected. You can't afford to skip the OVA lol. It gets referenced quite a bit and I love that.

And RIP Canon :'( She went through so much shit and all those future trips she made.

RIP Hiroto too. He was one of the best boys. Another Goubain moves onto the afterlife and joins his predecessor Goubain Mamoru. Now it's up to Mimika to carry on the Goubain legacy. If I was in the Fafner world I would definitely wear a Goubain helmet since I love mecha including super robots and shouting attack names.

Also Maya and Seri are best girls. I wanna protect their smiles.

A attempted translation of a review

It's a semi-realtime strategy game that basically plays itself. The "semi" part is probably just referring to the player's ability to pause.

You pick a starting district and your gang members begin to increase your influence in the neighbouring districts. If you conquer all of them, you win.
Reducing an enemy gang's influence to zero will trigger a 1v1 battle with their boss. This battle is apparently just a dialogue choice where all choices end with your victory. There's just one "good" choice which will unlock a picture and give you some sort of bonus.

Over time, you gain points which can be used to activate skills (like converting enemy gang members) or to give your heroine new tattoos which increase her stats. (No idea if there's any gameplay to the tattoo process)

A review

I bought this game on Vita, and the game has no gameplay. I repeat it has no gameplay. The 1-minute trailer actually shows all the gameplay there is.

On the strategy map, you have some territories which spread and contest neighboring territories until you conquer all of them. This is done automatically and all you do is to manage an honor bar and try to make it not reach zero.

The tattooing is a just an upgrade shop, you cannot see the tattoos in anywhere except that one screen. Each territory has a boss tattooed girl, and you "fight" her when you conquer her territory. There is no fight, you always win after a hilariously poorly made cut-scene, and the only thing you get to do is to choose between 3 dialog choices. If you choose the best one, you unlock a CG for that boss.

This game has about as much content as a $2 mobile game. It may work as a snack-game on Vita but there is no point in getting it on a PC. Oh and while it is fully voiced, the ecchi is very mild. You won't be getting a boner off it.

All the quality of a tattoo given video game form.

Its actually gonna manage to sell more in America than Japan cause people are suckers.

wtf I really didn't expect mimika to go! She was best girl, if anybody had to go it should be Rina or Sakura though Seri has so many death flags
But they had to (semi) off Mimika? I mean, she's still alive but she's a black hole now and I doubt she can reproduce like that.
Fuck. And I thought she'd at least survive to give her goubain helmet to someone else. Now all the goubain members are down. Also, finally they let the neo un get a taste of the festum.
