Every four years because 365.25 instead of 365. So we add 1 more day every 4 years.
But it's not really 365.25, but a bit less, so we remove the extra day every 100 years, giving us a normal year. But the bit less that causes this 100 no-leap, is not as much less to always work every 100 years, and every 400 years you need to add one more.
