It was boring compared to season 2 and the storyline that they came up with for Lee and Gordon sucked. Also, Penguin became a bitch and took way too long to go back to being his old self.

I hated her too when the show first started. But I eventually gave the show a second chance and rewatched all the episodes and I realized that she's actually not that bad. And she's barely in the show after season 1, so there's no point in giving up on the show just because of her

Because the start of the show was awful so people jumped on the hate bandwagon. If Gotham premiered in season 2 it wouldn't be on the verge of cancellation.

Penguin in Season 2 was brainwashed into being a decent person for a couple episodes.

That was a short term thing and it was out of his control. This was different because he was acting out of character of his own volition and it just felt off.

I loved Season 3. It got off to a slow start, but the last stretch of episodes was pretty fun. I love the comic-booky route it's taking. Works much better than the procedural it started off as.

Season 4 is also looking really good. I just love how the mythology is finally shaping up to look like the Gotham we are familiar with.
