I suggested this as an option for dinner tonight and my girlfriend had never heard of it. I worked at a diner and we used to serve steak and eggs and chicken fried steak and eggs. Is this a strange meal or has she just never heard of it?

It's a great meal the morning after grilling out steaks and you have leftovers. Pairing it with leftover baked potatoes by turning them into home fries is a must as well.

Eggs can go with pretty much any meat.

Bacon, pork, ham, steak, sausage, etc.

Normal in my book. Odd dinner choice, though. Only ever seen that for breakfast/brunch.

You don't do breakfast for dinner?

Not usually. I try to have lighter dinners than I would breakfasts, and most breakfast foods are pretty rich or carb heavy.

On their own? It's weird IMO. As part of a full meal? Fairly normal.

I don't normally do breakfast for dinner, but we have leftovers and I haven't been trying to throw food away. We have steaks and baked potatoes already cooked. Figured I would fry the eggs or something and scramble some eggs and it'd be an easy enough dinner

I only ever had steak and eggs for breakfast when I was in the US. Steak is a dinner dish here in the UK. Is it not an uncommon dish to have for dinner?

Here in the UK a Full English is most commonly known as a breakfast/brunch meal, but nobody will complain if you have one for dinner. It's a little uncommon but not quite noteworthy.

For what it's worth, I love the occasional Full English for dinner. Takes minutes to cook, there's plenty on my plate (I'm a traditional six-piece man - bacon, sausage, 2 eggs, hash brown, beans) and with a pint to go alongside it just makes the meal somewhat more exciting than when I'm sat at my breakfast bar with a glass of OJ.

I'd never eat steak for breakfast tbh. Chicken or sausage is the only thing I have if I eat meat at that time

Depends on the region. Chicken biscuits are pretty popular in the south

God damn I used to have to make so many hand made CFS from cube steak back in my day. But hand made ones are so much better than premade imo. I could eat CFS for the rest of my life lol

In my birth country we used to eat eggs at all times during the day. We would add meat, vegetables and other things to the eggs.

It's a great food. Its not just breakfast food.

Man I love eggs, they taste good and are affordable.

I don't really do the whole "breakfast food/dinner food" thing

I'll eat whatever's there if I'm hungry, last Sunday I was smashing tacos at like 10 am lol
