Just got prescribed it today, and Im wondering if anyone has had any success with it. It takes a month to reach therapeutic levels so I wont really know for a while, and most meds dont do shit for me

I'm on that, it is a miracle.

It cut my IQ in half, but I no longer have persistent fears and paranoia

Not a brag or anything, but I was "hyperintelligent", IE: My intelligence was too high for ma brain, so it was actually harmful - I'd get in endless spirals of thought.

Celexa is citalopram and I was on that for a while. It did really help more with the anxiety than anything else. The best way to describe it would be like turning down the volume in my brain. So the bad thoughts were not shouting, but all thoughts were quieted. The downside was I gained a bunch of weight on it (that stuff had me sleepy and hungry) which has been difficult to lose after discontinuation.

It is made up: It's just my explanation of observations. Just like being hyperglycemic is harmful.

It made me feel awful for a few weeks before it got better, works amazing for anxiety like I went from an 8 out of 10 to maybe a 2 but it didn't do much for mood and depression. I just switched over recently to Lexapro which is the same thing without the sedative component and I can't really say much has changed besides not sleeping well but I was used to taking Celexa before bed because it made me sleepy and now this doesn't.

That sounds literally perfect except those exact side effects haha. Ive only ever had bad experiences with specific sorts of meds, so hopefully Ill manage to avoid these. I have hardcore insomnia anyway

Well in addition to anxiety the primary reasons Im gonna be on it are depression, mood, panic, and OCD. Im already on a mood stabilizer though which just got upped so Im hopeful this could balance all my shit out

If this doesnt work out Ill be sure to ask about Lexapro though. I dont think Ive been on that one yet

Just so tired not finding anything that works

Thanks

It's a gamble
Even people with same conditions may not handle medication the same way.

My experience: It was definitely helpful for me for panic and ocd. I didn't realize how much it helped the OCD until coming off of it. Now I'm back to checking the same things over and over and it wastes so much time.

Probably moderately effective for depression. Not being on edge or having compulsive behavior or intrusive thoughts is bound to make you feel a little better. Not much for the mood though.
