Yeah, I even went over this somewhere in this topic. Of all the things to critique the EA games for, this argument has always been the one to hurt my head the most because Battlefront has always been Star Wars: Battlefield from the beginning, with some small differences here and there.

They still played differently enough.
But since you mention 1942... the best Star Wars "Battlefield" game imo was really the Galactic Conquest mod for that game. Way better than the original Battlefronts.

Yes. Outside of the obvious Star Wars stuff, just about everything from Battlefront's gameplay and mechanics were lifted from Battlefield 1942.

Prepare to be really disappointed. I tried Battlefront 2 (original) when they said the servers were online again... I don't know who's trying to say it is like Battlefield 2 but they're pullin' your leg.
