no. i've had to go back to it before for budget reasons. and it wasn't pleasant. amount of time I spent on the internet almost became non existent, i'd spend maybe 30 minutes on a day. long enough to check my messages on facebook (or was it myspace? can't recall) send out some messages/replies, and leave.

No. I actually have made house buying decisions based on broadband accessibility.

Also, I'd have to get a landline phone to get dialup, and a landline would actually cost me more than my cell phone does.

I couldn't live in a place without a landline. cell phones aren't always reliable. but then again I think things have changed, I can recall a time where if you had a corded phone it would work even without power to the house, as long as the phonelines where good, no electricity was needed. so it was great for extreme weather conditions where power may go down and reception would likely be shit on a cell. (and also no way to charge them)
