ok so big boss from mercs iv wakes up with no arm totally saw that coming

so everyone starts shooting up the hospital but good thing Hush is hear to help me out and like tons of fodder people to soak up the bullets

then fire dude comes out and of course he's bulletproof so now I have two different enemies but they hate each other too cool

and then gas mask psychic dude (is that psycho mantis? he looks familiar) and he's teaming up with fire dude and they fight a tank and then somehow I make it out alive but Hush dies

but then some other snake guy shows up on a horse so it's all cool

stealth takes some getting used to

big boss running is way more intense than I was expecting

I went to save the guy from some base and it said I didn't know where he was yet so I guess I missed something?

saved him fine anyway so I guess it's no big deal?

Luckily you can play this game however you want, stealth or killbot (though the enemies will actually catch on that you're killing the entire Russian army and adjust their tactics)

so I killed the target. Is the mission over? There's still a ton of map left here but there aren't any other objectives that I can see. Do I just call a helicopter and leave?

I think it's just the Northern half of the map that's cut off to start with, but it's been a while and I'm not 100% on that. Otherwise the map is fully explorable out of a mission.

don't forget to develop the decoy the first chance you get

cartridge throwing is probably the best way to sneak up on enemies even in the endgame, so practice getting good at that

soon you'll learn all sorts of amusing ways and cartridge throwing will be too boring to bother with

The extent this game goes to to be shitty despite it being the greatest game ever is almost incredible. I just rage quit after about 300 hours last night, and I'm done with it for good now probably. It's worth the outrageous ways the game makes you wait around and do nothing, but god DAMN is it awful. It's a shame because if they just tweaked a few things (helicopter pickup being faster, no awful load times for menu, not having a separate wallet when signed online, having side ops only be completable in tiny doses at a time, the randomness of animal collecting, the fact big boss can't climb inclines, the labyrinth of stone that is afganistan etc.) this would probably make it to my favorite game of all time. As it stand though, it's not even in the top 3 of metal gear.
