Totally agree with you. I worked 5 years in a convenience store chain out of high school. Getting fired once for it, in the case of the OP so he doesn't have to get .99 cents would be shitty. But yeah companies keep a tight lid on cash, which is understandable. Most "give a penny take a penny" is from customers who leave their change in those trays, not out of employees' cash drawers. I've seen several dollars worth of change in the tray at the liquor store I got to that people "donate" for those that are short. --- I think I need a drink.
