The meaning behind both is different. Not wearing a flag is a stupid rule. Period. Doing so shows patriotism. Kneeling for the flag just shows that you let other people dictate your politics.

And that's the bottom line, cuz southcoast said so.

Oh so now you're calling the rules to respect our flag pointless? The troops died for those rules to be followed and you're going to call them stupid?

I don't think the narrow debate of "hypocrisy regarding treatment of the flag" is the one to be having here. You're already accepting the premise that this is "about the flag," and not race or how the US falls short of its stated ideals

This.

In addition, flag code has nothing to do with "proper conduct during the anthem", so it's not really the right place to point.

Hey, look, Southcoast says something ignorant.

Wearing the flag is clearly against code.

"The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speakers desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general."

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/4/8

Of course SC is all about disrespecting the United States, he voted for Trump after all, which was a massively anti-american action.

Even if wearing the flag is misguided, it's not intended to show hate. The people that are kneeling are doing so because they hate our country, police, soldiers and firemen (and they hate any citizens who respect/appreciate any of those people).

1. We tried that, the conversation got hijacked, so now in order to try and refocus the discussion, we have to address this silliness

2. So it's ok to disrespect the flag (which I've been told kneeling for the anthem signals), just not during the anthem?

This is the point we're trying to make. All this "disrespecting the flag" talk is nonsense. Its just inconsistent smoke screens
