Also tbh Nintendo is clearly shipping way more SNES than they did NES. They easily had a few hundred for sale the day I went to Nintendo NY, on that day alone. And they've been have decent shipments there since release.

They almost never had the NES in stock at all. The scarcity of the SNES is no different than any major in demand console launch imo

Yeah I'm not stressing about it. I got mine, and offered to have my sis come with me to Nintendo NY but she didn't want to wake up early to get in line. So I won't feel to bad if I can't get one.

I'm just refreshing occasionally, and I'm signed up for alerts.

If you're looking for in store stock updates try brickseek.com. It's how I managed to score a NES classic from target.

Yup. As a tip, the biggest thing to notice is if stock jumps from zero to a large quantity. Especially if it's after the store closes, it means they got a shipment in and it was scanned through the system to be sold the next day.

With NES there was a day where the local target went from zero earlier in the day to 9 in stock after midnight after they had closed. In the morning they had 9 for sale, which I managed to get one.

I feel bad for the poor shlubs who bought the SNES from think geek with that ridiculous Ryu statute for 200 bucks.

Scalpers on eBay are cheaper lol

UPDATE: I went to the same Gamestop like an hour ago and got one. Either they were full of shit last night or they didn't start selling them until today.

Don't worry man. According to that article I put, Gamestop should get weekly shipments. Hopefully that is true. Also, I would not call ahead. I just showed up when I got mine. It was a roll of the dice, however.
