microtransactions are really just there for a PVP mode jammed in probably due to publisher mandate. If you're in it for the single player as with the first game then you can totally ignore the microtransactions with no negative impact to your gameplay experience.

In general it's just a superior version of the first game across the board. Same basic concept, but everything that worked is dialed up to 11 and they added some new mechanics to freshen things up.

It seems to me that it just takes nearly everything from the first one and expands it. People say that the game is designed late game to steer you towards the loot boxes but I haven't seen it.

It's too soon to tell right now, but all the moaning about grinding to reach the true ending just strikes me as people trying to finish the game as fast as possible, coupled with shitty reporting on Polygon's part that's being parroted all over.

That aside, it sounds like a real good sequel and I'm bummed I have to wait a few weeks to buy it.
