I haven't played it, but I've talked with those that have, seen reviews, etc and from what I've gathered, it's your standard open world game, albeit done pretty well. But I haven't had any one say it's the best open world game they've ever played. Most of the people I've seen hyping as one of the greatest of all time are known rabbid Sony fanboys so I've taken their opinion with a grain of salt.

I am playing Horizon right now and it's a polished version of the Ubisoft/Warner Bros. open world template, but nothing exceptional. There have been better open world games this year.

BotW is an exceptionally well-made game but it's far from being one of the best ever IMO. Even within the open world genre, its world doesn't have nearly enough in it for me to call it the best. That crown, at least for me, goes to New Vegas.
