Like Rambo 2 and Robocop, Bloodsport was definitely a product of that specific time. You'd also need another charismatic lead. Say what you will about Jean Claude, but he had the right amount of cheesiness, vulnerability, muscles and high-flying kicks. I really like pretty much everything about Kung Fury. Having said that, Bloodsport and movies like it from the 80's are at least partially more enjoyable because they were absurd and took themselves seriously.
