80/80

White people's portrayal in horror movies is disgusting. As a White man, I find it seriously offensive how we're portrayed. No one in their right mind, regardless of race or culture, would go investigate an on-going scary noise and obvious trap deep in the basement. No one! However, Hollywood horror movies always have White people so curious to go see and more than likely they have one person go see what's going on alone. And then we're ALWAYS the unreasonable douchebag that starts a panic and gets everyone killed because we're the skeptic.

"Hey Josh there's a scary ass rustling and moaning noise coming from the cellar. Why don't you go check it out by yourself?"

"LAWLZ no prob it's prolly just the wind".

I'm even more offended that every White person in this world seems to graciously accept this.

because a pretty white girl is always the hero of the story

i can count on one hand the number black/asain final girls there are

though jada pinkett smith was pretty awesome in demon knight so she makes up for the genre as her character from scream 2 "excluding the african american element"

Because they're at least subconsciously aware that the movie assigns their lives value and sympathy that it often doesn't offer to people of color. And for everyone who's ever made or heard a joke about the "black dude dying first," they are actively aware of it. So they are aware they're benefiting from the implied inequity and they don't really have grounds for complaint about fair representation of white people in the horror movie genre

White people definitely do this though

No we don't. At least not me. If I even think my apartment is haunted then I'm out that bitch ASAP. In the movies White people still live in the haunted house like normal people even when the evil ghost physically come scare the living shit out of them. What is wrong with some of yall?

All I know is I would not do any of the dumb stereotypical White people stuff like in the movies.

1. Separate at times of horror. No mother fucker we sticking together. Ain't no you go that way and I go this way.

2. Investigate a scary and obvious trap laid by the monster.

3. Don't believe in the ghost until it's fucking too late.

White people are the idiots and black people are the ones to die first.

Neither should really be happy with horror movies.

This happens often in my house so I can easily identify it now but the 1st time Ive heard loud scratching sounds on metal coming from the vents leading to the basement it kind of freaked me out. I got a weapon and walked slowly down my backhall. Opened the door and a bird was flying around all crazy. I was probably more scared of the bird flying into my face while I opened a window for it to fly out.

How is any part of that unbelievable? Shit was pretty casual. When I bought the house there was bird skeletons in the basement. Now I know why.

There was also a time when I woke up out of dead sleep cause my furnace was making crazy loud banging sounds. That gave me a quick "wtf is happening scare" too. The bad part is it eventually just stopped and I procrastinated getting it checked out all summer. Now Im not sure how its gonna go during these colder seasons in Michigan.

It only had one owner between me and my Aunt. She lost the house and we got it in an auction for 10k including taxes. I moved out of my moms for the second time into a 2 story house at 23. I wasn't questioning shit. I was walking on sunshine. Me and my cousin moved in before the heat even got turned on in the dead of winter lol. All we had was a space heater but it was both our first times on our own so we were riding the high of that
