Technically, it is withdrawing, so my GPA can be affected if I am considered to be failing a course.

unless you can withdraw without getting a "W" or whatever, then just take the test first and see how you do, if it really is too bad then you can just withdraw afterwards or even wait till near the end of the semester so you can get all the notes and see all the tests and study up for next try

You can get a good grade in most classes even with one bad test. Just get as much credit as you can from it and then do the work to get excellent marks from here in the class.

I am so emotional about this, but I am flip-flopping back to Withdrawing.

The problem is the test is Friday, and it seems I can't get an appointment with my academic advisor until Monday. That won't work, so I will ask my Calc III teacher about dropping, and what will go on my transcript (just making sure it is a W, not an F), and talk to the Office Of University Registrar about it.

A single W won't be too bad, especially since it is a class that has nothing to do with my major and is a higher-level course.

Why don't you look at this as a challenge? You give up now and you just wasted a semester of your time. You'll feel like shit afterwards.

If I were you, I'd stop posting on CE, and start studying. You already said it's possible. Passing this test will change your life. You will know what it feels like to overcome a great challenge and your confidence will skyrocket.

Yes I am a loser that wants to keep his GPA intact, instead of acting dumb about it for the sake of some false "glory."

This class has no bearing on my study of focus, and it would be dumb to risk everything for it.

GPA means shit if you're already in college and you don't plan on going to graduate school. It's not false glory, it builds strong character.

I think you are thinking about the deadline for dropping a class without it going on your transcript, which has already passed.

After that deadline, if you drop a class, it is considered withdrawing from it, and you will receive a W on your transcript to indicate that you took the class, but for whatever reason, decided to quit the class. Still though, my GPA will be hammered if I stay in it, and while it may not matter for some, it does matter for me since the program I am applying for requires a high GPA.

Technically, there is a deadline for withdrawing from a class, but that deadline is before the semester ends of course.

My school has a deadline for even W-dropping a class (this past Monday, in fact).

Did you do well in Calcs I and II? Calc III is mostly just learning how to apply those classes in three dimensions, which really just means tracking which variable you're treating like a constant at any given time.
