This ... is not the Star Ocean game I recommend. To anyone. In fact, or at least in my opinion as a long-time fan, this is the worst game in the series. And a remaster of a game that is already in HD is pointless, but ... Square Enix. *shrugs* At least this one is a complete game, unlike Integrity & Faithlessness.

And I like Melissa Fahn (because Nep), but adding Welch to games that did not have her before (Star Ocean 2) annoyed me.

He works pretty well. Depends on how you choose to manage your team. If you're dedicated to Lymle, you could easily sit Faize on the sidelines and have Bacchus take over. Plus, Bacchus can be fairly useful where you are currently.

Okay... I'm stuck in this room with a bunch of annoying red barriers blocking me from continuing. I killed all the enemies there too, and couldn't find a switch or something.

The annoying battle trophies like getting 555 exact damage or something like that. I remember getting really lucky on some.

Yeah, I've been getting some here and there with Edge, and one or two with Reimi.

I honestly don't see myself putting in the 300+ hours required for a platinum. Especially not with November coming up. I'll have important stuff to write!

I like this game enough to at least finish it once and do some of the post game stuff, but I'm not devoting giant chunks of my time all to get a virtual trophy I can look at and think about once in a blue moon.

I'll consider getting a Platinum for Tales of Graces, because that's time consuming but ultimately doable in a reasonable amount of time (for a platinum), but I'm not gonna play a game where getting 100% hinges on my playing through the game 8 times while simultaneously doing [arbitrary amount of damage] in a fight. I read about that yeeeeeaaaaaarrrrrs ago, and apparently people had to go and save Those stat seeds and only use them when they were at a certain level so they could go and do the exact number of damage.

It sounds mentally and physically exhausting.

I wound up not finishing it the first time and then randomly playing it again. I'm so glad I didn't delete my battle trophy progress when I was initially thinking about it. I think most of those I got when I was going for other battle trophies or not even trying.

Last hope? Lets see, that was the prequel one, right?

I rather liked it due to taking place before that Prime Directive equivalent got put into place, even if they were rather heavy-handed in explaining WHY it gets put in place after this game.

Frankly, what we also need are games that take place AFTER Star Ocean 3, so that it cannot be ruined by the big plot twist of 3 any more. They have had a tendency to remind us about the reveal of SO3 in just about every game they have made since then, to varying degrees (the most recent one even acts like you are a "player" in the actual menus and such).

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't reference it in every single game since then. Like finding grafitti someone wrote in a well, or being able to read the messages of some old guy whose speach is nonsense to everyone else.

About the only good thing that came out of it is the fact that it lets them justify Welch being as many places as she is.

The Last Hope is the only Star Ocean game I ever completed, and I loved every bit of it.

The PS3 International version is way better than the original 360 version. I didn't realize they were re-making it for PS4, but I just may buy it again if the remaster adds worthwhile content.

At any rate, it is VERY underrated. I don't think you'll regret your purchase, TC.

Well like I said I can't really remember. Most of the game takes place on one planet from what I remember. But every Star Ocean I've played has been like that. I think most play time for this game was from trying to get battle trophies.

Sadly looks like I won't be able to play V since there won't be a PC port.

Integrity & Faithlessness is half of a Star Ocean game that sells for the price of a full one. Or it did before, at least. The price has dropped since I got it at launch. Not as bad as Last Hope, IMO, but still pretty bad.

Not sure what. It played pretty much the same exact way that the Star Ocean 3 did except Star Ocean 3 was harder.
