A man dressed as the star monster of the "Pokemon" franchise attempted to jump the White House fence on Tuesday before being arrested by Secret Service officers.

CNN reported that Curtis Combs, 36, of Kentucky is accused of trying to climb the White House fence on the southern side of the building while dressed as Pikachu from the video game and TV series.

Combs, who told officers he was unarmed before climbing, ignored orders from police and stated warning signs urging him to stop climbing before he was arrested.

Court documents obtained by CNN show that Combs planned to broadcast the encounter with police on YouTube but was foiled by officers' "quick response" time.
President Trump was nearby in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building doing radio interviews at the time of the breach, CNN reported.

The Secret Service has been dealing with an increased number of fence-jumpers at the White House in recent years.

Just last month, the White House was placed on lock down after a man threw a notebook and a sign over the fence along Pennsylvania Avenue.

In 2014, a particularly embarrassing incident for the Secret Service occurred when a man who had brought 800 rounds of ammunition in a nearby car jumped the White House fence and made it all the way to the front door before being arrested.

Combs has plead not guilty to one charge of unlawful entry. His court date is set for Nov. 9. After his arrest, he told officers that he plans to return to the White House for a tour with his son once he is released.
