College, so people know that you're legitimately good enough at the language of the country you are travelling to, to the point that you can teach it to them.

You can google a list of any number of services looking for English teachers. However, because more and more people with degrees are doing it, it's getting hard for LBHs to secure English teaching jobs. China now requires a college degree, and I think the same is true for others in the region.

Yeah, you *can* get a travel visa and just work illegally there. You might not be able to get normal teaching jobs since most of the schools want a degree, but you could do tutoring or something. There also a lot of what are called "white monkey jobs" (and the jobs are every bit as offensive as the term implies) which is mostly just work where you're being hired simply because of your race and nationality -- and usually also gender -- and you aren't expected to do much. When you hear some of the stories about the jobs, they're absolutely fucking crazy.

As for language teaching, an American with a bachelors supposedly has an easier time finding work than a German with a masters degree, just because Chinese schools, etc, favor certain nationalities.

I dont think you can actively seek out such jobs very easily, or rely on them for stable income. Even then idk how to find these white monkey jobs.

If im going yo get a degree i might as well go Korea or Japan where the pay and conditions woukd be better, if i get a degree why woukd i go south east asia or china i dont understand that

Depends on the job, I would imagine.

The competition is steeper in those nations and they have a significantly higher COL which balances out anything you might earn. Otherwise, it's a trade-off. Japan is more developed and far more rigid in terms of culture, whereas China is so free that parents let their children pee right on the streets.

In general, though, people have been trying to teach in these nations long enough that the bar is higher than it used to be and that's kinda spreading throughout the region.

Doesn't have to be English but it puts you in a slightly higher pay tier with most jobs and might open a few more specific opportunities if you stay in the industry.
