Does a PC not qualify as a game system? I get that most of the POTD's are put together by 5 year olds and the answers usually don't cover most of the population, but this is almost abominable.

Not only that, but the answers that are there... NotLikeThis...

PCs may not be as many as others, but I'm pretty sure that at least 15-25% of all the gamers use PCs to game with. Might not be 30-50% like the PS or so, but it would be ridiculous to ignore up to 25% of the gamers. And even then, PCs are still the go to system for upgrading though! Its shocking that its not there really. PCs had upgrading and all that stuff decades before consoles thought it was cool.

I had to look at the poll first to see what this was about. Its pretty weird to get bent outta shape by that question for omitting PC. A console/handheld tends to last for 8-10 years, and as of late, gets a remodel halfway through its lifespan, so its a very specific question to be asking if you upgrade. PC is ever-evolving. You could make an upgrade, but then need to make a further upgrade one month later if you wanted to stay at the top of the line with specs.

Apples and oranges here.

A PC isn't a "game system". It's a "computer".

Thats a highly uneducated thing to say. You can very easily use ANY console as a computer, its all in the OS and the drivers. Its quite elementary to swap out the two. Not only that, but a PC can be used as a game system. What else would Steam and all the other GAME libraries on a PC be there for? I've actually seen Linux used on consoles and the PS3/Xbox360 used with a PC.

Hardware is hardware. Upgrading a console could be anything from buying a new Ext drive to buying a newer model. Sounds like something that you can also do with PCs. Also, the average lifespan of a console is only 6 years, with the "slim/smaller" versions coming halfway throughout, so 3 years. I'd say its 100% to include PCs on the list seeing as you can get away with upgrading those every 3 years too.

I'm not horribly bent on the Poll, I'm just baffled as to why GAMEfaqs would infer that PCs aren't used as game systems, even though PCs are at the top bar for navigation. Seems dumb. #ChildishHardwareDiscrimination
