unless you are an uber warriors fan or really love the source material(if it's a spin off)enough to ignore the warriors downsides

That's why you don't buy each that comes out

I bought dynasty warriors 5, then warriors orochi, then all the pirate warriors games because I'm a big one piece fan so that was a waste of money, now I'll buy 9

I haven't bought a warriors game in years.

the last one I got was orochi 3, and that's because it was free

i never got any but anytime I'm close i just skip it for fear of boredom

i did it for hyrule warriors and also did it for fire emblem warriors

I've tried the series off a very old pc demo but due to mechanic differences over the years...i cannot judge it without first renting the game or outright buying it

but with odyssey right around the corner I'm iffy on making the purchase

only way i can rent it seems to be through gamefly right now and by the time it gets here Odyssey will be right on top of me

Yeah I went from 5 to Warriors Orochi 1 to 7 to 8E. Couldn't imagine buying them all, but they're quite a bit of fun every now and then.

I just really dislike how linear they've seemed to be these days. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but 5 felt at least a bit more open-ended in how you could approach map objectives. Completing an objective in an area felt like you were helping allies secure the area, instead of everyone in your army being incompetent sandbags except for you.
