I haven't watched Roanoke or Hotel, but Freakshow is the absolute worst. But Coven was really, really bad even if it had some fun stuff in it.

Murder House > Freak Show > Asylum > Hotel > Coven I get why people don't like Freak Show but it's one of my favorites mostly for giving us two of the series' best villains in Dandy and Twisty as far as villains go Dandy > Tate/Rubberman > Sister Mary Eunice > Twisty > Dr. Thredson > Hayden > Dr. Arden > James March > 10 Commandments Killer > The Countess > Stanley > literally everyone in Coven I think that covers most of the major ones from the first 5 seasons? --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ https://goo.gl/Diw2hs ... The issue with Coven (and every season of AMS since), is that they give us a cool premise for the story, then say "Oh but wait let's do a cool story talking about this, and then this, and then this!" and then the original premise is just absolutely forgotten so we can have a bunch "Oh wow cool!" moments.
The most egregious part was "It would really be cool to have Jessica Lange and Angela Bassett's characters team up!?" And the way they just completely dumped on the whole witch hunter arc just to have such an anti-climax for it was ridiculous. It's the same thing in Coven now. It's not twists and turns they're giving us, but rather total and complete changes in concept. I only watched Asylum, which was great until the last three or so episodes. That final stretch though..... completely turned me off of trying the rest of the series.

most of these rankings are terrible

I have only seen the first 3 seasons and half of Freak Show and Asylum is easily the best and Coven is easily the worst.
