You'd want a 1060 6GB for modern gaming on high, which means you're looking at $1100-1600 MSRP, $750-900 on sale.

Yeah, definitely. And there could be some much bigger sales around Black Friday on the laptop front. If it helps, mobile gaming has never, ever been even remotely close to as good as it is now. The mobile versions of the 1000-series cards are so much better than the dedicated mobile cards of last generation it makes any previous gen gaming laptop look terrible.

A 1050 is more than serviceable for gaming on high for some games, and a 1050Ti will be even closer. If you find a good price on that kind of laptop, they're worth it, but you won't push 60FPS on Ultra for games. You'd hit that on high for some of the better-optimized games, though.
