six days ago I guess I received an e-mail requesting a phone interview for this job I want, and when I was available. I have no clue how I missed this, but I did. I am replying to the e-mail now but I kinda feel like my idiocy shot me in the foot.

I have been checking my e-mail each day as well, though truthfully I was expecting a phone call about this and not an e-mail but idk. This doesnt look good.

Cant believe I missed getting this e-mail. I was locked out of my email for a day because I needed to sort my password but otherwise I should have still seen it.

god damnit

"Hello Margaret. I am so sorry I did not see this e-mail sooner. I am definitely available for a phone interview. Any day of the week in the morning would work fine. I am definitely interested in working at X and I regret not seeing and replying to this e-mail sooner. I hope an interview can still be set up.
"

This wasnt even in my spam folder. its with my regular mail. the sender was a name i dont recognise but the title of the email "I am from XXX asking to set up a phone interview" is clearly visible.

she even said in the email she wanted to set up a phone interview "this week" which would have been last week. but she doesnt specify 100% any timeframe just says "i'd like to set up a phone interview this week"

Maybe make up something about an alternate email or a filter or something

hope things can turn around for you. But maybe you were thrown off a bit by the sender (it happens), also odd that they sent you an email reminder, instead of a phone message

I've issues with the spam filter in addition to just somehow missing messages for whatever reason, along with a few occasions where I saw something, meant to respond, but got sidetracked by something else. The only thing you can do is apologize, explain the problem, and hope that they haven't move on in the hiring process. Usually if you catch the mistake within a week, you're fine, though. When it goes out beyond a week it becomes an issue.
