I did the same with both the Xbox and the 360. It was nice being able to play my own music in games like I could with the PC.

I remember buying the Xbox with my friend on a whim. We were both stuck in the barracks with duty for the weekend and we're bored senseless, went to the px and dropped like $700 on an Xbox and a bunch of games.

I remember figuring out something with audio video cords where I had the video and audio of one console but also the audio of another. and i'd just turn off my games music and play what I wanted. i'd have to switch out video cables to choose songs though. fortunately the outlets for said cords where on the front of that tv.

too much in this thread to agree and disagree with...

NES and Gamecube I could see being overrated, but SNES if anything is underrated even despite its already high rating. no system in history has such a fantastic almost never ending supply of awesome games (exception to PC of course).

LttP > Zelda 2 > Zelda 1

Can't imagine how anyone can not like LttP, it's just gaming bliss. Zelda 2 I can see not liking, but IMO there's a lot of value there if you're willing to look for it. Zelda 1... why does anyone like that game? Zelda 2 has such epic dungeons. Zelda 1... everything is just boring and pointless. I guess maybe it's just all subjective and nostalgia based, but I dunno...

SMW > SMB3

SMB3 is more challenging, SMW is more fun. what would be nice is a game as fun as SMW but as challenging as 3.

I enjoyed zelda 1 for what its worth, and I first played and beat it around 2011 I think. on the gamecube actually. same with zelda 2. I honestly never got why LttP is considered the best. I mean its good but there are several zelda games I like more. and 2D ones as well.

I'd rank SMB3 over SMW, but the SNES is still the best of Nintendo's consoles IMO. Such an amazing library.

(And besides, there's always All-Stars for SMB3 diehards like me!)

I disagree with both statments.

SNES Is easily Nintendos best console ever. The 2d greats on the system hold up to any other games in the genre style that have come out since then.

It doesn't just have the best platformer line up for its time, it STILL has the best platformer line up, same for jrpgs. It also has a strong line up of space shooters, beat em ups, and fighting games.

Gamecube isn't over rated because most people don't rate it very high. Its got some gems that people love Melee, RE4, REmake, etc but most people recognize its over all line up is pretty weak.
