I'd be curious to know how this is skewed. It doesn't surprise me that SMB3 and SMW are the clear leaders. I voted SMB3 myself even though I've played all but 2 of these titles.

SMB3 > YI > SMW > SMB2 > SML2 > SMB > SML > LL

Never played the super mario land games. Played at least some of the rest thanks to owning super mario all stars and renting yoshi's island. The only one i've actually beaten is SMW though.

I've played all the mario platformer/adventure games.

I think I've played them all except maybe The Lost Levels, if you count Super Mario Advance for 2.

All and some more.

Played them all. Didn't play a lot of Lost Levels, wasn't super interested in it but gave it a couple goes back in the Super Mario All-Stars days. Also played only a bit of Super Mario Land, probably less than 5 hours. I got 6 Golden Coins soon after and it just blew the original SML out of the water.

Otherwise I invested a lot of time in all the games. I voted for Super Mario World, which just barely beat out Yoshi's Island. I remember playing SMW over and over again, but Yoshi's Island I beat it once and was good, so that's why I put SMW higher. No denying that Yoshi's Island is a super well-crafted game though, and probably objectively better.

And after those two, IMO: SMB2 > SMB3 > SML2 > SMB1 > SML1 > Lost Levels.

I have played all platforming Mario games released so far, both 2d and 3d.

SMB3 and SMW are pretty close as far as first and second, but I always give the edge to SMB3 just because seems to have more variety and complexity then SMW.

Lolwut, that game is like a half hour long but you're making it sound like you never beat it. Hell, all of the games on this list can be beaten within 5 hours, save for maybe Yoshi's Island unless you don't care about your score.

I've only beaten 2 of them. Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island. I've played 1 and 3 and Land, but I haven't beaten them before. (At least as I recall, as I went through a Mario phase when I was around 10. I could have beaten the others, but I really don't remember.)
