Let's break it down

1. Person makes a ridiculous claim about math (unless you believe they are right...yikes)
2. Admiral makes topic pointing out the lunacy
3. He gets called a racist

OK so what happened? Even if we go on the assumption that Admiral is indeed racist....even if I grant you the very claim you made....

Why are you treating this as a one-off happening that took place in a vacuum?

It's more like:

1. I used to post on 261 and people there talk about that one alt-right guy who used to be a lead moderator.
2. I ended here as a 261-fugee and ran across his posts: A bunch of alt-right stuff, incredibly ridiculous.
3. I needed help with getting a questionnaire filled for a school paper and sent him a pleasant PM asking for help
4. dude publicized my PM here, got incredibly hostile towards me and then proceeded to post more alt-right bullshit. Then he denied being alt-right, which is like ash ketchum denying he is a pokemon trainer.

Because topics are separated for a reason. If you have a problem with what Admiral posted or disagree with it, you should really comment on the actual thing itself...not the messenger. This is the definition of Ad hominem and it makes your argument look weak as fuck

The examples they use in the article were Pythagorus and Pi, making people think that all of math was invented by Greeks and white people

But I gotta say...the fact that we don't use roman numerals anymore has to be some kind of argument against this whole thing...it just seems silly. As a child I never once thought anything political about math...and now its starting to seep in.

The argument is that since the historical significance of math "discoveries" are taught using the western people who discovered them (Pythagoras, Archimedes, Euclid, etc) as opposed to peoples of other nations who may have also discovered them (ancient Chinese or Indian mathematicians, for example), that it inherently makes white people seem superior because all the biggest math techniques are named after white people.
