I already know the angle intended by this question since it's directed to pro-lifers: "Hurr durr, if life begins at conception, why didn't you save the 1000 embryos instead of the kid?"

What good are embryos outside of a woman's body unless they plan to utilize them for in vitro fertilization later instead of using them for unnecessary experimentation followed by destroying them as soon as they're done with the embryos? The kid is already born and thus has every legal right to live whereas the embryos were likely doomed to destruction from the beginning of their storage.
