PS absolutely stomped it in sales and had a monstrous library of classics. Nintendo 64 had maybe fifteen classic games between Nintendo and Rare and a couple other third party games.

Both great consoles, but no question the PS1 was the "winner" on every front.

I remember this old argument...hehe.

Ps1 had better games in almost every category and multiple greats in each of those categories, and sold 3 times as many consoles as Nintendo. N64 had wonderful platformers, a couple of good first person shooters, great multiplayer games, and Zelda. But no, Nintendo's last victory was the SNES, unless you count the Wii because of console sales alone (and ignore the game library)

N64 lost of one of the most iconic rpg's, ff7, which is one of the reasons why Sony sold so well. If nintendo didn't fuck up, and just went with the disc media Sony wouldn't exist today as console maker and Nintendo would completely dominate the market. So, N64 was complete opposite of victory.

I don't deny Switch success but i don't know if i would call it a portable with tv out, or weak console you can take with you tbh.

PS1 had the better games at the time, but it's aged so much worse than the N64 that it's almost unplayable at this point. I'd honestly prefer Master System games over PS1 games.

yeah, its mostly the games which didn't use pre rendered graphics like in FF games, and those that didn't use sprites.
