No one expected the Switch to do _this_ well, so there would be very few high development cost 3rd party games this year. Pump out a ton of 1st party games, sell consoles while 3rd parties realize they screwed up by not betting on the Switch and catch up. Ride the wave of 3rd parties coming out next year. An issue with 3rd parties on Nintendo consoles is that competing with their 1st party games is a dumb move.
