I live in Syracuse and honestly, its the short days. Shovelling snow is eh, cold you just bundle up, but long nights suck. With daylight savings next week I really wish we'd freaking flip the order of daylight savings. Please give me an extra hour of daylight in the winter.

this is happening right now, because of the tourist season being over. he's barely making enough to cover the rent (my roommate isn't bringing enough money home) but i have worked a deal with him to cover his rent through the month 2. it's not completely dead and unemployment can cover the rest (tbh i haven't seen the worst of it yet).

things will pick back up around the spring time which is about 4-5 months from now.

I don't prefer the cold but the worst thing is the weather. We get a bunch of slushy shit that is all the dangers of snow and ice but none of the benefits, like snowball fights or snowmen. It's crap.

I like it. I get depressed in the summer when it's like 8 or 9 and still light out... but the heat and humidity depress me far more than that.

Granted I'm in SoCal but we do get snow flurries from time to time. Freeze. Wind. Rain. (Mountain pass). So winter isn't like midwest/east coast stuff. And my house is an old uninsulated one. No central heat or AC.
But I can handle cold infinitely better than I can handle the heat. And we do get the miserable 110 degree heat here too. In the cold you bundle up. Sweaters, jackets, thick socks. You get under the covers at night and put the heater at like 70. You can deal with it inside and outside.
The heat. Outside in the heat it actually feels like I can't breath. Like I can't get a deep breath. You can strip down to nothing but shorts and sandals and it doesn't make things better. In the summer when I'm at home I am stuck in my bedroom, naked and with the window AC running almost 24/7 set to 68 but it still only cools to about 78 at best because it's heating up faster than all the ACs can cool it down.
In short. I hate summer. I hate it with a unrivaled passion. Summer evenings are nice though.

Heater at 70? Lol. I live in New england, my building is poorly insulated and I turn the heat off before bed to lower electric bill (and because I annoyingly have radiators and no thermostat, so it's inconvenient to try to regulate). It is not unusual for the temp to get down into the low to mid fifties. That's when I get my best sleep.
