I'm halfway through the game and I still don't see why most people disliked it so much. It's been very enjoyable so far. I like the main story, I can't stop myself from trying to do all the side missions even though I usually wouldn't bother with that stuff and I like the batmobile more than I originally expected myself to. So when does it get bad?

I liked it too, gameplay itself was great and I even liked the the tank battles. My only complaint was the Arkham Knight himself. If you have experience with the comics youll know who he is right away and realize how half-assed it was done. Other than that it was a solid game.

It was so half-assed they had to lie repeatedly before release in order to have any surprise.

it was good as the other games. it was just buggy on release and a bad port or whatever. I got it like 2 years after it came out so it played great for me

The only downside. I loved it when I wasn't forced to use it but when I did it was for some awkward platforming, puzzle, or combat that lasted entirely too long and/ or was too restrictive to be fun

Batmobile missions got old fast, and they were especially dumb with them being shoehorned into the Riddler sections, and it was samey overall, but I'd be damned if I didn't enjoy the heck out of it. Really liked the story, even if a certain reveal was pretty obvious.

I almost give the batmobile a pass. It was fun, if not overused. But then it committed the coup de grace... (major spoilers) making Deathstroke into a copypasta tank battle... lmaowtf

Me too. It's easy and you feel like a badass when you avoid 50 missiles and take out 20 drones all by yourself

Fun the first few times, but it gets old real fast with very little variety in the battles. Disable all the mines for the side quest? Surprise, here's a whole new set just 50 enemies to take out this time. For added fun, the active zone is in a tiny underpass area with 5-6 ways for them to approach your position. You can use all the same tools you used before, guns, rockets, hacking, and emp blast, all while trying to not get caught in the crossfire.

Felt like on foot, you had many more options to clear the area. Battank, not so much.

Yeah that was the worst. He even jumps out of the tank and flies at you and you're like "aw hell yeah here we go" and then Batman just immediately knocks his ass out.

"Drive" being the key word there, though. I'm not sure anybody was asking for tank battles. Car chases would have been expected but more like in the movies and animated series not strafe left and right while firing rockets as you're swarmed by remote controlled tanks.

It was an interesting idea and the Batmobile is used in some inventive and novel ways but then it's used in those inventive and novel ways another 500 times so that by the end of the game you're just sick of it. It was clearly a mehcanic they were proud of and they were right to be but they oversaturated the game with it and I no longer remember how I felt the first time I experienced it, only the last and in this case that's a bad thing.
