They (the original SSB versions) are the only two Amiibo I own, and I bought them in a second hand shop for 5 each about a week before it was announced that they'd do something important in BotW and they shot up in price. I could have traded them in for a nice profit, but decided to keep them for the unlock.

Now I've finally bought a Switch and Zelda (although I'm focusing on Mario Odyssey right now), and I just realised I still don't know exactly why I've been holding onto these things. What will they get me in the game?

SSB Link Amiibo is IMO the best one to have for BotW; it gives you Epona.

They drop chests with randomi tems based on what amiibo. Also exclusive equipment.

Link amiibo also gets you Epona.

looking at all that makes you realize this is basically how nintendo does microtransactions. but it's definitely better than most companies. you get a cool figure at least

Also you can take amiibos around town and get all the exclusive stuff for your friends too with just the one set of figures
