yeah blue coins are a bitch to keep track of

there are a few segments of the game that require a totally new understanding of what you are doing with the controls, like shooting the water off the back of a platform in water to propel it forward at different speeds and directions; these are probably going to be the most frustrating parts of the game but you have to really pay attention to how they work instead of just trying to power through, unfortunately one of those is in the last stretch of the game before the final boss

That's my main tip. I know a lot of people don't rate Sunshine very highly, but it holds great memories for me.

Like AvlButtslam said, if you plan on getting 100%, then keeping a list of your blue coins is a must. I normally compete games without a guide, but the blue coins are so obscure that it's virtually impossible to find them all without some kind of guide.

Very fun game to play through, maddening if you want to 100%.

Also, the camera is not the greatest, occasionally leaving you staring at a close up of a wall and a silhouette Mario.

My fav Mario game ever. But be prepared for difficulty spikes. The manta ray boss will kick you ass but that is later in the game.

I never understood the complaints about the camera and the controls, I thought they were both excellent... but that was when I played it back in 2003, it might be bad by today's standards but who knows?

And you're also right about the difficulty spikes. There are a few that are insanely hard compared to the rest.
