That happened to one of my cousins. We try to grab a steak on a mutual day off, and last time it was mostly him just browsing imgur's front page showing me funny things he saw, with just slivers of actual catching up time in between.

This has become my family. Brothers and mother. So that runs the gambit in ages from 18 to 55 with me at 35. We finally go out and they just sit there at the table or in the car sans the driver, all with their phones out staring like zombies at them. I feel like I'm the only one that got raised right somehow. I have to be the one to try and keep conversations going because otherwise no one would talk.
This is what I'll never understand. How people can be so addicted and attached to this kind of shit. Grew up without any of this garbage. Everyone lived without it then and people can live without it now. Honestly I think society overall was better without any of this social phone crap. --- FFVII Remake: A disaster in the making. whenever i go out i leave my phone in my car. some of my friends do tend to just stare at their phones so i have to start a conversation on topics we have already talked about before but i know will get their attention.

A large group of us went out to some restaurant and during our time there we noticed 3 couples sitting side by side one another just scrolling through their phones.
The whole time. As time progressed, with them glued to their 3x7 screens, I decided to blurt out (amongst us) that they were actually communicating with each other through text and made a little game making up shit to what they're saying as they typed. "Pass me the napkins" "Have you seen this one?" "Where'd you go" It made our evening better while waited for our orders. --- S / K / Y / N / E Twitch/YouTube/GT: Adzeta ... Copied to Clipboard!

My parents are frequently on their phones during dinner, but I can't say this has been a regular experience when I eat out with friends. Probably because of an awareness of the reputation millennials have with technology, they actively avoid using their phones whenever possible.

I don't have a cell phone....and if I go out with a friend to eat and they are constantly looking at their phone or checking their phone while not really trying to carry a conversation then I don't hang out with that person again.

That's sad. I'm never on my phone when I have company and neither is anyone I'm with, it's super rude.

If I'm at lunch or dinner with someone, I don't need to constantly be talking to them. Especially if it's a close friend where I see them often. There's nothing wrong with me wanting to do something productive on my phone while eating. Silence in a Meetup with someone isn't inherently bad --- Posted with GameRaven 3.3 ... Copied to Clipboard!
