Suffice to say, I gave up and just blew them off past a point because it became frustrating to deal with several people who constantly asked me what they should do only to throw it back in my face... I think it's not giving the other party enough credit to respect what you're telling them. They say "our bad, we didn't know" and are now mindful of the situation (95% likely from the sounds of it) or they don't care and then there's really no reason to feel guilty about cutting them off.
