WTF are thing thinking!...as a fan of the TMNT since the 80s this pissed me off....it feels they just want to change things for the same of changing them...

What made the relationship of Leo and Raph great was that Raph was always the strongest turtle. But Leo was the Leader while being the second stronger because he was a better leader, he was more wise, calm and could control his emotions much better than Raphael did...By making the strongest turtle the elader it will fall into the same cliche of most tv shows where the stronger guy is the leader..it will lose it's uniqueness

I don't mind a black April because she was never really defined by her race. Hell, the source material comics are black and white, and her hair in them was black (not red), so I could definitely see her being black.

But making Ralph the leader? That is just stupid. The whole point of making Leo the leader is he is the rational one who can focus the team on that task at hand (I.E., a good leader). Ralph was a hothead who was impulsive and constantly did things on his own (I.E., a horrible leader). That is like the one thing that has carried into every iteration of TMNT (even the really bad movies).

Exactly.... making the strongest guy the leader is just too cliche at this point and it wa something the TMNT did great by having the most rational one be the leader instead of the hothead who trans more than the rest

Having Raph start as the leader might be ok - and there is actual character development and drama for Leo to become the true leader.

I just hope the supporting cast comes back... Irma was ma faaaaaav

excuse me but Mikey is the strongest and most gifted fighter.
He just didn't give any fucks.

Raph is the hot head, don is the nerd, Leo is the leader.

There is a scene in the original comics where Raph and Leo are fighting a triciraton and struggling.
Mikey was handling three solo and joking around. I've always hated that they don't acknowledge him for being that gifted. Hell, he pissed raph off a few times and raph went at him and mikey just casually tosses him around.

He did lose to raph once because raph basically cheap shotted him from behind

I will almost certainly not actually watch this, but because we are on the Internet I feel compelled to give my opinion. ;)

Aprils race doesnt matter, of course, her character has been modified between the different shows before so this is hardly noteworthy.

Raph as the leader is pretty interesting, however. If TMNTs has had one constant its been the group dynamic and a big part of that has been the respect and tension between Raph and Leo in their roles. Leo has also never really been the cool one either, so Leos character in particular seems to be more of a departure from the traditional telling. Hopefully there is some payoff for this, not even necessarily the characters growing into their traditional roles but just any compelling reason for this.

This is great. My son is going to love this news.
I don't mind changing things up a bit either. I read a comic once that had just Raph and Casey Jones teamed up with guns going Rambo on a bunch of mobsters.
