Luckily I didn't get them when I got my wisdom teeth out. This is my first time. But it's excruciating, to put it mildly.

It's frustrating because I did everything I could to prevent it.

Won't be able to get into the dentist until Tuesday afternoon.

That sucks, I'm having issues with my lower jaw on the right side. It feels like the tooth is still there. I had my last two wisdom teeth removed back in May.

I smoke pot but didn't at all before getting the tooth pulled, or during the healing process.

No straws or spitting. No rinsing during the first day. Idk.

I didn't feel any pain when I got my wisdom teeth removed. When I got my braces and they had to remove 4 teeth in front in order to straighten them out, yeah that sucked big nuts.

I had a lot of swelling when I got my wisdom teeth out, but no complications otherwise. A lot more blood, but that was 4 teeth.

Idk, I chewed exclusively on the other side, taking very small bites. I guess it's possible though, since I don't have any other leads lol.

I actually had three dry sockets at the same time. They hit the hardest when I had to drive 60 miles. I was pretty much in agony the entire drive. I just wanted to go at 200 mph.

The pain has subsided a bit. I've got an appt tomorrow at 2.

I would drink if I could but alcohol stops the healing process

I was really scared when i got one molar extracted. I did smoke though, which made the fear even worse. I was planning of not smoking, and i asked very politely more than few times from my parents that don't piss me off or rage near me for anything. Got home and had a smoke in 15 minutes, because they managed to get me pissed off. I smoked maybe 3 or 4 per day.

My guess is that dry sockets are more likely to happen on upper teeth than lower ones.

Yikes. I can't imagine the kind of pain she was experiencing.

The dentist/oral surgeon cleans out the socket(extremely painful), then packs it with medicated gauze, and stitches it up. The medication in the gauze promotes healing and fights further infection.

I was worried about getting a dry socket too, especially since Im a smoker

What I did was I cut off a piece of gauze, folded it up to tooth-size, then soaked it in coconut oil. Then I put it on the toothless spot and bit down.

No dry socket. Dunno if it was from my trick, but its worth mentioning.
